Avengers: Endgame is the twenty-second movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and obviously picks up after Avengers: Infinity War and our surviving heroes are dealing with the aftermath of the devastating snap from Thanos (Josh Brolin) where he made half the population disintegrate. The remaining Avengers decide to find and kill Thanos and a way of bringing back half of the population who were killed in the snap. While this movie is going to be far from the final movie in the MCU, this film still has a sense of finality to it as I’m fans are well aware of by now, the infinity stones and Thanos (being the villain who is the grand puppeteer) have been a huge driving plot device of not all but many of the last 11 years and 22 movies of this series. It’s safe to say this movie well and truly lives up to the hype, and that’s an amazing accomplishment given the mammoth sized expectations and hype this movie has to live up to.

A few things I feel like people should be aware of before seeing this movie, most of the characters you’ve seen in the trailers and main poster are the main focus of this movie and this is a very different movie from the previous Avengers movies. This film is definitely more of a character study rather than an action heavy movie, and I think that’s a good thing because the character development is extremely well done and will have you emotionally connected and gripped the whole movie. Given that this movie is 3 hours long the big question is did it need to be that long, I say yes but obviously a movie that is this long is often a deal breaker for a select group of people, 3 hours was a perfect runtime.

That being said some people might find the first act in particular to be slow, but for me this was essential for the movie and helped give the story the room it needs to set up and the growth it needs. That being said about this movie being short on action, the end of this movie will well and truly make up for it, if you are a Marvel or MCU fan. The end of this movie will give you the biggest nerdgasm you’ve ever had, a strong contender for the best MCU scene and something that will make your audience cheer and applaud for sure.

This movie will fondly be remembered as one of the best experiences of seeing a movie in the cinema, if you are a Marvel fan you will most definitely see this movie no matter what I say, but even if you are a movie fan in general this is a movie should not to be missed. On the other hand if you have not seen all or at least most of the MCU movies, this movie most definitely should not be the first one you see. This is definitely the movie of the series with the most call backs, Easter Eggs, references and fan service moments than ever before, and you’ll be very confused if you are not reasonably up to date.

Avengers: Endgame is one of the best motion picture events of a generation, if you are an MCU fan and are drooling to see this movie I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, Endgame is emotionally powerful, exciting and epic. This film is a highly satisfying second part to Infinity War and impressively shows what an unstoppable juggernaut of a franchise the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become.
